課程說明
生命是一連串持續的經驗,他/她並未停止於青少年期。我們在中晚年時期的發展內容與方式並非於孩童時期便定型,在整個生命週期中我們持續學習與發長。成人發展在心理學中屬於極為年輕的主題,在過去幾十年間,它已成為一個重要的研究範疇,是一個跨越學科的領域,並且帶來了豐碩的研究成果。隨著人類壽命的延長與人口結構的改變,全球性老化(global aging)現象使個人與社會都面臨了極大的挑戰,高齡學(gerontology)並因而興起。成人期中充滿了可以規劃出新方向、新生活形態與新選擇的許多可能。個人如何選擇職業?如何決定願意終身相許\的伴侶、教養小孩、退休,以及面對老年?本課程將針對年輕成人期至老年期之人類發展做介紹,內容主題包括生命週期發展理論、生命週期研究方法、認知與智力功能之發展、生理與心理之改變、以及生涯發展與退休等,並涵蓋\了影響成人發展的多重因素,例如歷史文化、性別、種族/族群與社會階層等。透過上述主題之探討,除了可以掌握成人心理與發展的重要議題外,並有助於進一步思考其在成人學習/教育上的應用,以及相關社會政策的制訂。

課程要求
Weekly Reading Responses 請在每週上課前閱讀指定的內容後完成一篇2頁左右的閱讀筆記,並準備在課堂上與同學們分享、討論。閱\讀筆記內容除了將指定閱讀文章加以重點摘要外,也應包含對閱\讀內容所做的反思與回應。本學期每位同學需繳交閱讀筆記共十篇,並請在每週上課前兩天將閱\讀筆記上傳至教學平台,讓授課教師與共同修課之同學能有時間事先閱讀,如此將有助於討論的進行。

Class Presentations 每位同學從各週指定閱讀內容中選擇一至二個主題進行口頭報告,報告內容除了針對指定閱\讀篇章之重點加以解釋外,也應包含相關的補充資料。大約在第二週將可以排定本學期報告之議程。

Research Paper 每位同學依據個人之研究興趣選擇與本課程相關之議題完成一篇12-15頁的研究論文,這篇論文的主要目的是提供同學們針對成人心理與發展領域中某個特定主題進行深度探討的機會。在撰寫本研究論文時,同學們需綜合整理已發表之相關學術論文,除了本課程的指定閱讀內容之外,還應引用至少10篇其他學術文章做為參考資料。論文撰寫請遵守APA格式。

Movie Review 有許多電影是以成人期中不同階段所面對之議題作為談討主題,在這篇4-5頁的報告中,請你簡要說明電影情節,並從其中舉出能闡明你所選擇的生命週期階段之具體例子。以下所列為一些你可以參考的電影,你也可以選擇其他電影。
